2Excel was delighted to once again sponsor the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) Summer Reception on Tuesday (21 July), welcoming almost 200 aviation and aerospace professionals to the Society’s prestigious headquarters in Mayfair.
The event held particular significance this year, marking 2Excel’s 20th year and also the Royal Aeronautical Society’s 160th anniversary. These milestones provided a fitting backdrop to an evening dedicated to bringing together colleagues, partners, and industry leaders from across the sector.
Taking place during a Farnborough year, the reception also offered a welcome respite from the pace and energy of the airshow. Guests were able to step away from the exhibition environment and enjoy a more informal setting for networking, discussion, and collaboration.
The event opened with addresses from Professor Malcolm Macdonald, President of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and Andy Offer OBE, CEO and Co-Founder of 2Excel. Both speakers drawing on the history of each organisation whilst highlighting the importance of maintaining strong industry relationships and creating opportunities for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and innovation.
Attendees then gathered on the terrace overlooking London’s iconic Hyde Park, where drinks and a BBQ dinner created the perfect atmosphere for conversation and connection. Throughout the evening, professionals from across the industry exchanged ideas, shared insights, and explored the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of aerospace.

The Royal Aeronautical Society Summer Reception continues to provide a valuable forum for networking, exchanging ideas and strengthening the connections that help drive the sector forward.
