Jemma reaching new heights for two great causes

We are incredibly proud to share that Jemma Jones, Senior Cabin Crew at 2Excel Charter, has successfully completed her charity wing walk — an inspiring challenge in support of two causes very close to her heart.

“What an amazing experience! Very windy up there but could see for miles.” said Jemma.

An experienced adrenaline seeker — having previously skydived in Dubai and hang‑glided in Rio de Janeiro — Jemma’s latest challenge was driven by something far more personal.

In August 2024, her husband Liam underwent a stem cell transplant following an extremely difficult time for their family.

Today, nearly two years on, his recovery continues to bring hope. As a serving member of the Royal Navy, being able to return to the career he loves has meant everything — something made possible thanks to the vital work of DKMS and BrightRed.

DKMS works internationally to fight blood cancer and blood disorders, funding life‑saving stem cell transplants and raising awareness.

BrightRed supports the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at the Freeman Hospital, helping enhance patient care, staff development, and ward facilities.

Jemma’s courage, both in the air and throughout her family’s journey, is a powerful reminder of the impact these organisations have on people’s lives, and 2Excel was happy to support Jemma’s fundraising through its Community Fund.

Any contribution will help these charities continue their incredible, life‑changing work. Alternatively, registering as a stem cell donor could make an extraordinary difference to someone in need.
