Design & Certification Engineer

Leading Edge, a business unit within 2Excel Aviation Ltd, is seeking a number of experienced full time Design and Certification Engineers with experience and proven track records in mechanical or electrical/avionic design. 2Excel Aviation Ltd is an industry leader in specialised and innovative solutions for aviation’s most complex challenges with the majority of our product set focussed on mission systems and flight test. Our success is based on the talented and experienced people that make up our workforce. Leading Edge, an EASA approved Design Organisation (DOA), Production Organisation (POA) and Maintenance Organisation (MOA), provides design, production and installation services to support the other business units within the group and external organisations.

As part of the Leading Edge team, you will identify and maximise the untapped potential of the aircraft to provide new and innovative solutions. You will be empowered to drive a project from concept to completion, working not only with the customer but the manufactures, installers, certifying authority and flight crew. You will be producing design data, drawings and compliance documentation to support the manufacture, installation and the approval of the project.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience within an aviation design environment and have the following skills and experience:

– Developing designs from concept to detailed drawings
– Compiling stress and weight and balance reports
– Compiling certification documentation
– Technical checking of designs, drawings, reports ad certification documentation developed by others
– Working knowledge of EASA requirements for fixed wing aircraft and Part 21, particularly subpart J
– Excellent 3D CAD skills (solidworks) and general computer literacy
– Attention to detail
– Good communication skills

The role will be based at our facility in Doncaster.
