Crew Training Planner

2Excel Aviation Ltd is seeking an experienced Crew Training Planner to join our existing Operations Team based at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield. 2Excel Aviation Ltd is an industry leader in specialised and innovative solutions for aviation’s most complex challenges. The Crew Training Planner will be responsible for the planning and coordination of all Company flight and cabin crew training. This role will be pivotal for programming all training, crew checks and any recurrent training requirements in coordination with the Crew Planner.

Reporting to the Head of Training and liaising closely with the Crew Planner, this role is based at Doncaster Airport, and is offered on a full time basis, working Monday to Friday.


Your key responsibilities will be:

• Monitor crew expiries, ensuring all systems are updated accurately as required. Control of the integrity of data input into our management software (Centrik and Leon)

• Liaison with the Crew Planner to initiate any re-rostering requirements as a result of planned training.

• Assessment of training requirements, in conjunction with the Head of Training and Fleet Captains for new joiners and initialisation of a new training workflows on our management software.

• Flight Training events – liaison with instructors and examiners, coordination of aircraft allocation, planning and notification of dates and phases in accordance with syllabus.

• Ground training – Planning and booking recurrent ground training events in consultation with providers, business units and candidates. Booking of recurrent groundschool training periods in conjunction with Fleet Captains for each fleet.

• Ensuring efficient and cost-effective scheduling of flight simulator and associated training by liaison with Fleet Captains/Lead Pilots

• Ensuring that all training records are processed, recorded, saved and kept to a high standard in a timely manner

• Liaison with CAA to maintain list of approved examiners and monthly return of exams conducted


The successful applicant will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

• Have demonstratable experience in a similar role or environment

• Interest or passion in aviation and for Crew Training Planning

• Ability to prioritise time limited tasks

• Good knowledge of crew planning and rostering systems, including an understanding of potential issues and how they may be resolved

• Excellent IT skills are essential, experience of Training and Crewing Software, particularly Centrik and Leon, is highly desirable.

• Excellent communicator and team player, able to build credible trusting relationships both within and outside of own department

• Ability to work well under pressure, ensuring a continued attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Able to work on own initiative, continually seeking improvements

In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
