Electrical Power SME (Large Aircraft)

We are seeking an Electrical Power SME to join our Capability Development team to join us as we embark on one of our most exciting projects to date.

The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Previous experience as an electrical systems Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) on large aircraft.
  • In-depth knowledge on Boeing 757/767 Power Generation Systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of:
    • certification of mission power systems on large aircraft;
    • certification systems subject to high-power variable frequency transient loads;
    • transient suppressions;
    • external power systems;
    • interfacing with Integrated Drive Generators and APU Generators.
    • evaluating high transient loads effects, both long and short-term, and instructions for maintaining Integrated Drive Generators and APU Generators.
  • Ability to identify methods of testing for safety and related verification and validation issues.
  • Knowledge of RF, EMC & TEMPEST.
  • Knowledge of HIRF/HIRTA (high intensity radio transmission area).
  • Understanding of the effects of transient loads on the generator mechanics.
  • Experience with liaison with regulatory authorities and customers.


This role will require candidates to be flexible to work from our main site in Doncaster, a hybrid working model may be considered.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
