Our ability to rapidly collect and process high quality hyperspectral imagery generates unique commercial and technical propositions.

We own and operate an airborne suite of survey grade cameras and hyperspectral sensors, supported by a range of highly specialised ground-based sensors, to collect data, which we then process, integrate, and analyse together with a range of other imaging and non-imaging sources.

We are now looking to recruit a dynamic individual to support our airborne data collection as a hyperspectral sensor operator working on contracts that involve tree and flora mapping.

Data collection is concentrated during the vegetation growing season, so airborne campaigns are limited to the period between May and September, creating a seasonal vacancy.

It is expected that training will be delivered to the successful candidate in April before the main period of operation.

Crewing will be rostered in a 4 days on/off manner with weekend work and deployment (UK-wide) required.

 

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they have the following capabilities:

  • Comfortable working in and around aircraft and liaising with flight crew.
  • Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well both independently and with others.
  • Be enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Ability to work in an organized, logical manner and to follow a prescribed process.

The following qualifications are necessary for the role:

  • Relevant aviation/sensor operation experience OR undergraduate degree with relevant technical content, i.e., surveying, engineering, remote sensing, geomatics, GIS, physics etc.
  • Full UK driving license shall be required.

The following skills, knowledge and experience are essential for this role:

  • Aviation experience, e.g., aerial survey, sensor operation, mission planning or private flying.
  • Experience with mission planning software, e.g., SkyDemon or similar.

The following skills, knowledge and experience are desirable for this role:

  • Experience with aerial survey software, e.g., TrackAir.
  • Experience with GIS software and methods, e.g., QGIS, and proficiency with standard geospatial vector/raster formats.

Reporting to the Humberside Ground Operations Supervisor, the role of the Ground Support Officer is integral to the smooth running of the Operations department. You will be working under your own initiative as part of a strong, open and resourceful team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The safe ground movement of all company aircraft using the approved equipment and procedures.
  • Complete GRF Runway assessments for out of hours Departures and Arrivals
  • Preparation of aircraft for charters in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • The refuelling of company aircraft in accordance with the procedures contained in the RAMP Manual & SOPS
  • Conduct Aircraft Marshalling
  • Assisting with the loading or unloading of company aircraft
  • The cleaning of company aircraft using approved procedures
  • Complete company driving tasks as directed.
  • Take responsibility for GSE control and completing weekly checks.

We are currently seeking a MEP – Trials Management Officer to join our friendly and exceptionally talented Capability Development Team.

The role will be reporting to the Head of Flight Trials and will contribute to all aspects of the Capability Development’s Trials process, varying from project and customer management, to bid writing and even business development.

This will predominantly be based at Doncaster alongside the Capability Development’s Part 21J Organisation and will involve flying from Humberside. The role’s key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Knowledge of aviation practices, preferably both civil and military

The project management competence/capacity may eventually be brigaded in a Project Management Office which supports various tasking.  You will be responsible to the applicable Project Engineering Lead or Programme Manager.

 

The role’s key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develop procedures within varying handbooks as applicable to the assigned project or programme
  • Establishing and maintaining the project schedule, in conjunction with the appropriate Engineering Project Lead to ensure all tasks for a particular job are identified, planned, and resourced sufficiently
  • Establishing and maintaining the project DAREOCI (including relevant risks, exclusions, dependencies, assumption, opportunities as applicable) on behalf of the risk owners
  • Establishing and maintaining a register of all actions for the project. Monitoring of action progress with action owners and updating of project plan and risk register etc with any impacts of actions as agreed with the action owner and project engineering lead.
  • Monitor/report time and cost progress for the project using our resource tracking software.
  • Facilitate security aspects letters, purchase order placements, NDAs, draft contractual arrangements as required.

  • The ability to correctly follow and understand project management procedures
  • A proactive approach to understanding project management process and procedures, considering how the procedures can be implemented in various tasks.

Essential

  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft modification certification.
  • Knowledge of EASA/UK Part 21, CS/FAR 23 and 25.
  • Proficient in the generation of:
    • Design change classification, description and proposal of classification;
    • Certification Programme, identification of certification basis, changed and affected areas, proposal of Compliance Demonstration Items (CDI) and Level of Involvement (LOI);
    • Compliance Checklist, identification of applicable requirements and population of proposed Means of Compliance (MoC) and compliance summaries; and
    • Other compliance documents e.g. test plans.
  • Experience of certification of complex projects on aircraft under civil or military airworthiness regulation.

Desirable

  • It would be desirable to have experience working on King Air, Piper PA-31, 727, 757 aircraft.
  • Previous experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE)
  • Knowledge of DAOS.
  • Knowledge of AS9100.

Management/Leadership

This is a mid-level role that will require some management, leadership, and co-ordination of projects from blank piece of paper to release to service working with 2Excel’s Production and Maintenance Organisations. Dependent on experience you will manage yourself and other design and certification engineers assigned to your projects to meet time and cost budgets.

This role will require candidates to work from our main site in Doncaster, with an amount of travel to installation sites required. A hybrid working model may be considered.
